Law of Attarction

With eyes closed and their bodies relaxed, Linda, Nick and Suzie, intently listen to a voice that says, “Now you can attract anything you desire. Let go of doubt, have unwavering faith and allow it to manifest.” This voice is of Mike Dooley, author of the internationally acclaimed audio program, Infinite Possibilities: The Art of Living Your Dreams.

Imagine Aladdin’s lamp and a genie saying, “Your wish is my command?” You could ask for an ideal relationship, a beautiful home, a luxurious vacation, a high flying career, fame or wealth. Sounds like a fantasy or a television commercial? No. It’s the law of attraction!
Michael Losier, in his book, the law of Attraction, describes this concept as, attracting to your life whatever you give your attention, energy and focus to whether positive or negative. Serendipity, coincidence, luck; all refer to one phenomenon – the law of attraction.
Bob Proctor, author of You Were Born Rich, asserts “thought become things.” Whatever you focus on, manifests in your life. Hence, focus only on things, people and situations that you desire. If you wish for prosperity and abundance then focus on them. Whether aware or not, the law of attraction is always working. You think of an old friend and they call you; you wish for a DVD and you receive it as a gift; you visualize a promotion and within weeks you get it. Those aware of the power of deliberate thought attract their desires all the time. Author Rhonda Byrne’s best-seller, The Secret, outlines three steps to put this law into practice...
Ask - Be clear about what you want. Identify your desire, watch your inner conversation and shift the focus from what you don’t want to what you do want.

Believe - Believe that you can have it and raise the positive vibration. Tell yourself that you are in the process of attracting all that you desire. Have faith and let go of doubt.
Receive - Once your desire manifests, show gratitude and celebrate. You must begin by thanking the universe for all you have, affirms Lisa Nichols, co-author of Chicken Soup for the African American Soul. Being grateful makes you feel good and the universe responds to how you feel. So feel good now. When you follow your bliss you live in a constant state of joy. Unwavering faith shifts your energy and the universe brings what you desire.
“Imagine the universe as a catalogue and place your order,” says Dooley. Most worry about how it will happen but “the how” is the universe’s domain. Make sure your actions don’t contradict your desires. If you desire to attract something and your actions do not support your desire, then you send mixed messages to the universe. Dooley tells a story of a woman who did just that.

Linda wished for her ideal partner and became clear of what she desired. She made a list of qualities she wanted in her partner and visualized him. Months passed yet she didn’t attract anyone. One evening, she pulled into her garage and realized that her actions were contradicting what she wanted. Her car was parked in the middle of the garage; there was no room for her perfect partner to park his car. Her home was filled with things leaving no empty space for another person. She soon cleared the clutter, parker her car on one side of the garage and made space for her perfect partner. Soon she met a guy at a dinner party and a year later they were married. By making space in her life Linda sent the right message to the universe and it responded.
While the law works for believers, skeptics argue, “Did I attract the accident, the divorce, the sickness or the debt?” Experts counter-argue that sub-consciously you may be focused on negative things. If you worry about debt all the time you will attract more of it because the universe responds to your pre-dominant thoughts. Hence you need to stop observing what you lack. Replace negative programming with positive belief.
When you are feeling down, you can change that in an instant, says Proctor. Put on a beautiful piece of music, or start singing – that will change your emotion. Feel good because this feeling good goes out to the Universe as a signal and starts to attract more of itself to you.
Monitor your thoughts. Be clear of what you wish for. Attend to your joy because that you give attention to magnifies. The universe is your genie. Rub your secret lamp, place your order and let the magic begin.

How about... Letting Go?

"Let go!" says a little voice quite strongly this time.
It's not in the mood to re-open closed memoirs or complete the unfinished rhyme.

It's through generously offering the benefit of doubt.
Because it now deserves to hear itself out loud.

Its refusal to contemplate any further feels right.
There is no point chasing illusions which forever remain out of sight.

Justifying has always been an easy task.
How long though can the dance go on wearing a pretty mask?

Walking down memory lane is no longer a favorite pastime.
In due course the glittery facade anyway wears off its shine.

Being nonchalant has its own power, we all know.
So why not just shake it off and simply let go?

See through the Fog...

The morning fog was a sign of changing seasons. I couldn't see anything clearly. Apparantly there were no specific reasons.

I wondered if leaves had changed colour and if the birds still played in the sky... I couldn't tell even though I was a regular passerby.

Jogging on the bridge overlooking the pond, I wondered whether the ducks swam as effortlessly as they usually do? However, because of the fog, I couldn't see through.

I wondered and wondered yet didn't get clues... So I decided to stop playing the blues.

Eventually the fog lost its own battle and vanished... Since I paid no heed to it, the thought too got banished.

Now if the day gets foggy at times without any reason... I just smile and think of life's changing season.

I no longer fret or ask why... Because unwavering faith gets me by.

For I know the fog will eventually clear... So I just pop open a can of chilled beer.

Well, in reality, I drink only wine... But for rhyming purpose beer is just fine!

Are we asking the Right Questions?

Last weekend I finished reading Tony Robbins' Awaken the Giant Within. The big fat book revealed some lessons I hadn't learnt before. One of the lessons being how to change mental and emotional states - from feeling okay to feeling great; from perceiving the glass half empty to seeing it as half full. Its all in the mind and the mind is a powerful tool. However, how many of us are trained to think correctly? How many of us ask relevant questions? Mastering life skills is no cakewalk, we all know. So how do we do it?!

We could perhaps begin by paying attention to the quality of our inner conversation. Asking the right questions makes a lot of difference. So next time you catch yourself complaining, STOP and instead ask, "what is the situation teaching me?" Is your mental chatter relevant? Is your inner conversation assisting you in being happier? If not, then communicate differently. Ask, "how can I be happier, how can I acheive more, re-invent myself, make an impact, add value to myself and others or utilize my resources?" Each time you ask a different question you will discover a different answer.

The choice is ours, the decision is destiny's, teaches the book. So atleast ask yourself the right questions, make wise choices and leave the final decision to destiny!

Hidden Fortunes!

Once upon a time there was a cow who could fly.
Now that is such a lie!! ;)

Actually this not a story of a cow... It is a story of a man who was walking on his chosen path (that's more believable, isn't it?). We will call him JoJo (if you happen to be named JoJo, this story is not about you, it is purely fictitious).
JoJo had high hopes from life and had been walking for a while. This path was slightly bumpy and JoJo was starting to get tired. He could not see his dream anywhere on this path. So he began to wonder if this was worth his while. One fine morning, JoJo came across a telephone booth on his way and thought, "Maybe I could give God a call and ask for some help." He smiled and quickly went inside the booth to dial God's number. God was in a meeting so Angel-Girl, the secretary answered and told JoJo that God was busy but would be conveyed the message later. JoJo was disappointed but he couldn't do anything so he was soon on his way. The sun began to shine brightly and it became very hot n humid. JoJo was surprised by the weather conditions since this was November (hmmm... he must be walking in Mumbai). He stopped to get some water. As he was drinking water, JoJo had an idea!! He thought, "If I had a car, my journey towards my goal would become smoother. So why not call God and ask for a car?"

Excited about this, JoJo rushed to find another telephone booth. He went in and called God again. Angel-Girl answered and asked JoJo to leave a message. JoJo began to get impatient and told Angel-Girl about his wish to have a car. Angel-Girl said, "Sure, God has got your messages and has asked you to keep walking." JoJo was not convinced... yet he walked some more but didn't feel that God was hearing his prayers. So he decided to take things in his own hands. On the way, he met a man who informed JoJo of a junkyard where cars were free. JoJo could go there and pick a car of his choice. Delighted by this new found information, JoJo changed directions and began walking towards the junkyard. He was tired but excited to find a car that would assist him get to his destination faster.

As he approached the junkyard, he was over-joyed and spotted a small cherry red wagon. He thought, "Wow, this is ideal. Its small, its cute and it starts!" He quickly started the car and Voila... he was on his way to his chosen path. Five minutes into his dream drive, the wagon came to a halt. JoJo heard a loud noise as if something had busted. In the rear view mirror he saw black fumes. Oh, this car turned out to be a kill-joy, he thought. He stepped out and wondered, "Now what?" JoJo couldn't leave the car in the middle of the road, so he pushed it to a place where he could park this wagon. Now JoJo was even more tired and farthar away from his path. This made him nervous. "Whew!" JoJo took a deep breath, had an energy drink and started walking. He thought his effort to find a car went futile, it not only made him more tired but also wasted his time. Regretting his deviation, he kept going.

After a long walk, JoJo spotted something in a far corner. Intrigued by what it might be, he approached the object. To his surprise, it was a car! And not just any car, it was a brand new silver lambourgini. JoJo was thrilled to see such a beautiful car. Seeing no one in the vicinity he thought, "Wow, who must have put this car here, and whose is it?" Suddenly, he saw a phone booth and ran inside to call God. This time too, answered Angel-Girl. Before JoJo could say anything, she asked, "Do you like the car?" Confused, JoJo clarified which car was Angel-Girl talking about? She told him that the silver lambourgini was for him. God had placed it there even before JoJo made his first call. Hearing this, JoJo was appalled. Angel-Girl said, "JoJo, this was always there for you. This was part of your plan but you did not trust God. You took things in your own hands and managed to get a free wagon from the junkyard. Deviating from your path made you more tired, perhaps resentful and delayed your real fortune. Had you kept walking, you could have had this car sooner." JoJo aplogized for his foolishness and learned a significant lesson. He thanked Angel-Girl for her wisdom and this beautiful gift from God. He realaized that he was always meant to have this gift but only when he reached the place in his life when God wanted him to have it... no sooner and no later than destined. Like JoJo we too need to keep walking our chosen path in FAITH. There are hidden fortunes waiting for us on the way but we will only find them when we are meant to.
